St Lucia Volcano Mud Baths

The Drive In Volcano down in Soufriere is one of
St Lucia’s most popular attractions. Bus loads
and boat loads of visitors check out this attraction
daily and it seems like a St Lucia Vacation is not
complete unless you visit too…
The drive in volcano smells of rotten eggs, (this is
the polite explanation) or more like if someone
ate some real off colour food and now the whole
world knows because the evidence was let out
into the air…
Funny though the off colour smell is rumoured to
be good for all sorts of ailments, though I’m not
sure if this is not still party of the smelly trick that
they are playing on us…
==================================
The volcano mud baths contain volcanic ash with
a high sulphur content and sulphur has long been
known to have great medicinal properties, especially
for skin ailments.
Hundreds of years ago French soldiers bathed in
these same baths as a way to refresh and rejuvenate
themselves. Think of the ask as crushed up pumice
stone and you can immediately feel it peeling back
layers of not so good stuff to expose the wholesome
and new
In fact rumour has it that a really good St Lucia
Volcano mud bath can peel away 20 years or more
and that this mud bath just might be the Fountain
of Youth!
So you can see why Saint Lucia’s Sulphur Springs
with its volcano mud baths is in among the Top 10
Things To Do In St Lucia.
