Meet The Man Behind The Business

Best St Lucia Photographer
So who is the Best St Lucia Photographer? Well I guess the answer really depends on who you ask. But to my mind there’s no real best St Lucia photographer, and ultimately all that really matters is that out of all the really great photographers over here in St Lucia you find the one who best suits your style and who you are most comfortable with.
So with that said here’s a little bit about Kirk… Kirk Elliott holds a double major Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Chemistry from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. While his main passion has always been photography, he was lucky enough to receive a scholarship from the European Development Fund to pursue training in Geothermal Engineering. During this time, the government of St. Lucia embarked on a project of geothermal exploration in St. Lucia’s world famous drive-in volcano. In 1991, the geothermal project had been deemed too expensive, suddenly leaving Kirk with no gainful employment. Ever the entrepreneur, he jumped straight into his true passion of photography which he had also pursued through high school and while at university.
Kirk Elliott’s Very First Wedding
In October of 1991, Kirk shot his first destination wedding. The couple absolutely loved his work and the rest – like they say – is history! Kirk was the official Sandals Resorts in-house photographer at Sandals Halcyon for 10 years (1997 – 2006). During this time, Kirk and his team of photographers shot about 600 weddings per year! Kirk also produced corporate photography for Sandals at their three St. Lucia properties as well as Sandals in Antigua.
Memberships & Associations
Kirk has been a member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) and is the founding member and inaugural president of the St. Lucia Association of Professional Photographers (SLAPP).
Kirk has trained with some of the world’s best photographers from Hawaii to Miami and across the Caribbean too. His client list includes The New York Times, Newsweek Magazine, BMW (St. Lucia), the office of the Prime Minister, the office of the Governor General, the St. Lucia Tourist Board and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank – just to name a few. Check out Kirk’s mentions in The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Travel Foundation and St Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association.
Passionate About Photography
Kirk remains as passionate about photography today as he was nearly 40 years ago when he got his first camera. He is thrilled to share his world through the lens with you! Whether you’re joining Kirk on a photo tour, or interested in hiring him as your personal photographer to capture your unforgettable moments – fun, smiles and top quality photos are guaranteed!
So while there is really no such thing as the best St Lucia photographer you now have a deeper insight into one of St Lucia’s best known photographers.
